Ok, now that my camera decided to start working again I can finally post and describe the quilt I am making for mom. The fabric is Asian themed. Mom has decided that she wants a shawl style of quilt to use to cover her shoulders and long enough to cover her legs as well. There are 3 "focal" rectangles that will be surrounded by a black fabric with grey chinese characters and a final border in red and gold. Here's a picture of one of the "focal" rectangles.
I have all of the pieces cut out for the remainder 2 "focal" rectanlges. Maybe I'll get those done this weekend.

Technical Difficulties
So apparently I am camera illiterate. I took some really great pictures of the next quilt that I am working on for my mom and now I can't get them off of my camera. I can view them on the camera but not when I connect my camera to my computer. I can see pictures that I took back in December but not any of the recent pictures. I will continue working on my camera issues and hopefully post soon about the awesome work I did this past Sunday.

Froglette's Finished Quilt
So I finished Froglette's quilt (my niece) just before I went to see her at Thanksgiving. When I went to visit at Christmas I finally got to take some pictures of the finished quilt. Here they are.
The quilt ended up a little thicker than anticipated due to a slight problem with the 1st backing made out of flannel. Sissy and I found this super cute striped flannel on a killer deal when she was in Portland back in August. The issue arose when I went to sew the top and bottom together. I haven't used flannel before and didn't realize how much it would stretch and pull. So after I realized that the flannel backing wasn't going to work, Mom and I head back to the fabric store. We found a really cute bright cotton fabric. This change in the backing fabric also meant that I had to rethink the quilting of the quilt. In the end I choose to tie it with red yarn. Although I am slightly biased I think that the finished quilt turned out to be awesome!
The next project that I am working on is a quilt for Mom. I will hopefully take some pictures tomorrow to post.
I can't promise that I will post more frequently, but I hope to.
